The non proft organisation Kishorit, was established in 1994 by a group of parents and professionals with the aim of establishing a settlement, which includes a communal neighborhood (a kibbutz) and a village for people with physical, emotional and mental challenges while giving parents the security their children will be provided with a home and treatment for the rest of their lives. The integrative community of 140 residents works wholeheartedly towards building productive, meaningful and fulfilling lives, but also complete self-sufficiency- the only endeavor of its kind in the Middle East.
Kishorit demonstrates the potential of every human being to achieve great things with the right kind of support.
Built on the kibbutz model of a collective economy, and to reduce economic dependence on parents and public resources, Kishorit runs several businesses that produce viable products sold in the free market and provide gainful employment for the community.

Horse Stable
| boarding services plus therapeutic riding lessons, for Kishorit members and the surrounding community.
Goat Farm |
the country's largest producer of organic goats' milk, which is sold to the Israeli dairy giant "Tnuva".
Dog Breeding | a pedigree kennel for boarding and breeding, specializing in miniature schnauzers and dachshunds; the proud owner of numerable European champions!
Egg Farm
| a flock of free-ranging hens that lay naturally produced organic eggs, supplied to community members and an eager market in Israel.
Vegetable Garden | organic agriculture for community use and wholesale marketing.
Organic Vineyard |
the newest Kishorit endeavor, to which will be added a winery producing special boutique wines for an exclusive market.
