Children want to be a part of the togetherness at the table, but they also like to move. The Leander chair is slightly springy and this gives the child a natural feeling of freedom of movement.
The safety brace and back are designed to ensure a correct ergonomic sitting position and the depth of the brace is adjusted without using tools.
The chair is steadily balanced and stands solidly on the floor. At the same time, it only weighs 5.1 kg so it is easy to move around.
The most recent requirements for safety are integrated into the soft lines of the chair’s design so it appears presentable and timeless in any interior and not just in “the children’s corner”.

“Children love to move and sitting quietly at the table can be a challenge for the little ones.
I wanted to make a chair that provided the possibility for movement, which was simultaneously comfortable to sit on. I found the solution in moulded wood, which is a friendly and flexible material.
The result was a living piece of furniture that bounces slightly when the child moves in the chair and it gives a pleasant and calming sensation.
I have chosen soft and organic forms, which are aesthetically related to the other pieces of Leander furniture – the forms are consistent in the back and brace, which securely embrace the child.
The chair is strong and stable and yet does not weigh very much so the slightly older child can move the chair around.
I wanted to create a chair for the life and development of the child – and not just for growth.”
